Mine’d App Redesign

Mine’d App

We could all benefit from utilizing self-help tools & resources. Mine’d is an app that allows you to follow wellness experts & listen in to their content for personal improvement. Mine’d already has a great platform & focus on human connection through their content & writing. I saw some areas of improvement I’d like to share for overall UX with features & tools. Here’s a redesign idea for Mine’d’s app with a focus on enhancing the user’s experience.

Original Qustionnaire Page

Immediately, the user is overwhelmed with options to click through which all take you through different user journeys throughout the app. Mine’d is a very welcoming & devoted time to this friendly user interaction, but I think it’s overstimulating and could be simplified for users to focus on completing the task with more efficiency.

New Questionnaire Page

I created checkboxes to show users they could select multiple focus points and designed a cleaner layout for the user to focus on featured clear, individualized options.

New Show Page

If the desired goal of the experts within the app is to gain followers and see analytics of who interacts them, it would be best to show the users what to do to showcase the important aspects of how the experts receive that data. I redesigned this page with adding the clickable elements to make the features known users could utilize & from which experts could gain insight.

Original Permissions Page

The original tracking Permissions Page was very delightful in how Mine’d created a friendly presence in the user interaction. I wanted to keep this kind, thoughtful experience in future pages. I did want to point out that this app does exclude individuals of certain socio-economic statuses due to the required payment to access content. I know this is needed to meet financial goals in the business, but for this type of content to be exclusive to those who can afford it perpetuates the current stigma of mental healthcare. Mental health is only available to those who have expendable income in the US and many other societies without free healthcare. This is something I hope Mine’d considers in the future to create free, accessible content in their app alongside premium, paid options for the benefit of users and experts alike.

New UXR Page

I decided to create a new UXR Page within the user journey of Mine’d’s app to give active, current feedback that is easily and readily available to the product team. I kept the same messaging from the Permissions Page & added some verbiage from one of the experts associated with Mine’d.

Reflection

Redesigning the Mine’d app with the end user in mind was beneficial for me. I had to think outside of the box when adding new features within pages that already have wonderful UX Design elements. I had to brainstorm how to incorporate these feature into a design that emphasizes the desirability of these features with current users. This was a delightful redesign experience. I hope Mine’d can incorporate some of my ideas above moving forward.
